Committee Mandate

As technology advances at an unprecedented pace, the digital world has become a space of both opportunity and danger. While artificial intelligence has opened new possibilities for communication, creativity, and progress, it has also introduced emerging threats that challenge the safety and dignity of women and girls. The misuse of AI through deepfakes, online harassment, cyberstalking, and other forms of digital abuse has created a growing global concern that requires immediate and collective action.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) will convene to address the emerging issue of technology-facilitated violence against women and girls, a modern challenge that threatens gender equality, human rights, and the ability of individuals to participate safely in the digital world.

Delegates will be tasked with developing effective and inclusive solutions to prevent digital abuse, strengthen international cooperation, support survivors, and ensure the responsible use of emerging technologies. The future of online safety and the protection of women and girls in the digital age will depend on the decisions and commitments made by this committee.
